Collection: Rita & Rudolf Trossen

The Rita & Rudolf Trossen winery is located in Kinheim-Kindel on the Middle Moselle, a region with a rich winemaking history dating back to the Celts and Romans. The vineyards are characterized by grey and blue weathered slate soils, which impart an invigorating minerality and delicate fruitiness to the wines. The wines are distinguished by their subtle aroma and a salty, cooling spiciness.

Since 1978, Rita and Rudolf Trossen have cultivated their vineyards according to biodynamic principles. Through the use of biodynamic preparations, the processes in the vineyard are supported in such a way that the wines clearly reflect their origin. Their philosophy, "With nature for good wine," is evident in the quality and authenticity of their products.

The range includes various Rieslings, including the "Purus" line, which is bottled without filtration or added sulfur, resulting in a special wildness and complexity.

With their commitment to natural viticulture and artisanal vinification, Rita and Rudolf Trossen have made a significant contribution to the wine culture on the Moselle and are considered pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in the region.

Rudolf Trossen is not only a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture on the Moselle, but also one of the 35 founding members of ECOVIN, the Federal Association of Organic Winegrowers, which was established in 1985. His commitment to organic viticulture is reflected in his statement:

"We were euphoric back in the summer of 1985, excited and nervous, but absolutely convinced that it was finally time to give organic viticulture in Germany an organizational face." 

With this conviction, Rudolf Trossen made a significant contribution to the promotion and establishment of organic viticulture in Germany.
