The classic Palatinate liter, reinterpreted. Georg demonstrates his full range of skills right from the start.
Part of the Scheurebe grapes were fermented on the skins, resulting in delicate tannins that harmonize beautifully with the fruit of the Scheurebe and Müller-Thurgau. Riesling and Silvaner lend the wine body, a fine acidity, and thus a very drinkable character.
The French would call it Glou-Glou or Vin de Soif, while in Germany it's known as "Saufwein" (drinking wine). Yet this wine is by no means banal or boring. It bursts with aroma without being overpowering and is a magnificent example of its kind.
Georg Lingenfelder runs the traditional Lingenfelder winery in the Palatinate region, now in its 14th generation. Over 20 years ago, his father began foregoing herbicides and insecticides, laying the foundation for sustainable viticulture. Georg not only continues this philosophy but goes a step further: his vinification consistently adheres to the principle of naturalness.
