The Sankt Peter 2023 is a unique Riesling that combines the historical depth of its terroir with modern, natural winemaking techniques. Planted in 2016 on fertile soils below a hill that once served as a home to the Romans and Carolingians, this wine brings the unmistakable spirit of the Moselle to the glass.
Despite the challenges of the 2023 vintage, this Riesling presents itself in the glass as light, relaxed, and inviting. Its aromas of citrus and yellow fruits are complemented by a subtle spiciness that lends it depth and elegance. On the palate, it impresses with its freshness and harmonious balance, practically begging for a second glass.
While the 2022 vintage received a slight addition of sulfur, the Sankt Peter 2023 was bottled completely without sulfur – further proof of Rita & Rudolf Trossen's dedication and skill in natural winemaking.
The Rita & Rudolf Trossen winery is located in Kinheim-Kindel on the Middle Moselle, a region with a rich winemaking history dating back to the Celts and Romans. The vineyards are characterized by grey and blue weathered slate soils, which impart an invigorating minerality and delicate fruitiness to the wines. The wines are distinguished by their subtle aroma and a salty, cooling spiciness.
